People are often surprised that hypnotherapy can actually be highly effective in pain management, but many scientific studies have proven that hypnotherapy can be utilized to lessen chronic pain and provide remarkable relief to those who suffer from it. An analysis of 18 studies by researchers at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York revealed moderate to large pain-relieving effects from hypnosis, solidly supporting the effectiveness of hypnotherapy techniques for pain management. Among those conditions studied were: cancer related pain, pain related to burns, arthritis, and relieving anxiety related to surgery. Hypnotherapy is also used to manage chronic pain and accelerating healing following surgery or injury.
Hypnotherapy is not be used as a substitute for medical diagnosis, and hypnotherapists do not treat or diagnose medical conditions.
What Can Hypnotherapy do to Relieve Pain?
While in the state of hypnosis the subconscious mind is open to receive instruction in a very focused manner. The mind/body connection is so strong that during this “healing state” someone experiencing discomfort or pain is able to reduce and often completely eliminate that pain, often with permanent results. At Sacramento Hypnotherapy we provide additional mind/body/science techniques and self-hypnosis instruction to manage and eliminate pain and discomfort.
Success Stories:
“I was in terrible back pain consistently when I went to see Brianna Mitchell. I had tried to get help through Chiropractic, acupuncture, shots, physical therapy with some relief. I was told I would need surgery, and that they would fuse my vertebrae, place eight bolts through my spine and two rods to stabilize my back. So, as a last resort I tried Hypnotherapy. Today, I am pain free most of the time, and I have been able to resume all of my normal activities without pain! I am now dancing again which is my passion. I do yoga regularly. I am so glad to have my life back!”

"Eleven years ago my husband was injured in a fall at work. The fall resulted in injuries to his neck. During the past 11 years he has suffered from chronic pain and depression. Prior to going to Maude he had days when he couldn’t get out of bed and he hated leaving the house.
Many days he took as many as 20 pain pills along with other prescription medication trying to get some relief from the pain. Unfortunately the pain continued and the depression grew worse. Between the pain, the depression and the pain medication he was unhappy, often grumpy and frequently not a pleasant person. He missed many family get togethers because he couldn’t stand the thought of leaving the house or being around groups of people; even family that he loved.
Since going to Maude he has drastically reduced the amount of pain medication he takes (2-6 per day); even having days that he has been able to go without any pain pills. Although the pain and depression are still present Maude has been able to drastically reduce both. On most days my husband is once again a happy person that enjoys his family and getting out of the house. I will forever be thankful to Maude for giving my husband his life back and giving my family and myself our loving father and husband."
